Residents can check their property tax information for free online. You are required to create an account password and enter a valid email address so you can receive an account confirmation link. If you encounter difficulties with setting up your account call BS&A Software at 855-272-7638. There is a small fee charged by BS&A for non-residents to access the information.
This is a third party service, and we upload the township’s tax information to the site.
You can verify that payments made in the current tax year have been posted and get a PDF copy of your bill. Please allow processing time before payments are posted.
Effective July 1, 2019, we are offering current year property tax payment by phone and through the internet. Types of payments accepted are ECheck (with a small fixed amount fee) and by credit card (with approximately a 3.5% fee).
Mailing payments is strongly encouraged. If you need a stamped receipt, please send a self addressed stamped envelope. An emailed receipt can be sent if email address is provided. BSA Online also has paid status of bills and can be printed.
Delinquent Taxes are paid to the Shiawassee County Treasurer. You can call their office at 989-743-2224 to inquire about making payment. Online information is also available as well as online payments through the Shiawassee County website.
Section 7u of the General Property Tax Act (MCL211.7u) allows a property tax exemption for a principal residence if a person is unable to pay due to poverty. The township board must annually adopt poverty exemption income guidelines and an asset level test. To request a poverty exemption, a taxpayer must file the following with the township.
For more information on either of these exemptions, contact the Township Assessor, Diane Dowler.
Tax payments can be mailed to the treasurer. I will also be accepting payment in person at the New Haven Township Hall on these dates: NO CASH PLEASE. The In person collection schedule is as follows:
Saturday, August 17, 2024 9:00 a.m. – Noon
Saturday, September 14, 2024 9:00 a.m. – Noon
Monday, September 16, 2024 9:00 a.m. – 5 p.m.
There is also a drop box mounted on the outside of the Township Hall where you can drop off your payment. Payments must be dropped off no later than 5 p.m. on [date], to be considered paid on time.
If you need to update your mailing address, please contact me. Changes in ownership or names must be handled by the County Register of Deeds. I cannot make those changes.
All bills are mailed to the property owner. If requested by mortgage companies and lenders, tax information is sent to them electronically. Check with your mortgage company to be sure they have requested and received your tax information for payment.
Property tax deferments allowed under MCL211.51 can be taken, and the deferred tax then becomes payable on February 14, 2025.
Please list all parcels you are deferring. You may list them all on one form. Please be sure to sign the form before mailing back to me at:
P. O. Box 36, Corunna, MI 48817, or send by email to treasurer@newhavenshiami.gov
Last Day to Defer is September 16, 2024.
Because of the delays in mail delivery, postmarks are no longer accepted. Please allow 7 days for your payment to be received on time.

Any payments received by mail after February 28, 2025, or put in the drop box after 5 pm on February 28, 2025, will be returned, as the Township cannot accept payments after the close of business on February 28.
